The center style learning is working very well. It allows us to think through the lessons more clearly and help the students with any trouble they may have with the content or the technology quickly and easily.
Google Classroom provides a place where students can turn in their work and I can comment and give them feed back. We have found websites and applications such as S'more and Exit Ticket that allow students to create or to be assessed. So as part of the technology implementation project of implementing Google Chromebooks and Google Classrooms into my classroom, my collaborative planning group and I have decided to restructure our instruction. We have divided our week in to four different centers covering different aspects of the standards. The students will be in different groups that rotate through one center per day each beginning on a different center, by Friday each student will be finished with all of the centers and will be given an assessment.
The centers will be research based, allowing students to use technology to explore a topic and then create a presentation of what they have learned. Great news! Sometime in the next two weeks my classroom will be getting Google Chrome Books! While I am very excited to have this opportunity, I also have to say that I'm also a bit nervous that I will not be able to plan and use them to their fullest potential. The main topic of my blog is to use technology in the classroom to connect students to the outside world and have them to collaborate with others in problem-solving and learning opportunities. So I guess this entry is more of an outreach to gain ideas and collaborate with people with different perspectives than me! So colleagues and strangers of the world UNITE and help me with your ideas on how to effectively use my chrome books!!!!
